As a well known entertainer used to say, “How Sweet it IS!”
Glad you got to the bottom of the problem. Make sure you take a box of donuts over to those mechanics.
    They certainly deserve it.
    Best,
    STeve

Really glad you guys founds the problem. This is a great case in point as to how important it is to have the logbooks filled incorrectly. Kristin had a great conversation about this. https://youtu.be/EKmV4LykwKc?t=245
    Thank you for the update.

Kent and Steve, We have finally resolved the issue on the rudder alignment issue. It appears and we think that someone in the history of this aircraft had responded to a SB to inspect rudder pedal assembly for cracks in tubing and must have replaced one side only ( left we believe) with the wrong serial number for the part as there have been a few changes. We finally found a complete assembly for correct serial number and installed and rigged it. It worked perfectly well to our delight. This has been tough to correct as there wasn’t an entry in logbook to indicate how this fiasco started. I may not have ever gotten it sorted out if not for the diligence of Terry Phillips and Jarrod Golice of Attitude Aviation in South Point Ohio and Huntington WV. Much thanks to these and also the good folks at Sutton Aircraft Salvage in Palmer Ak. (Dave and Ellen Leisner). Yes I have looked everywhere in the lower states and Canada and finally found it in Alaska. Thanks for your leads as well. Rex

Steve I’ve been out of town and have only briefly talked to A&P , he hasn’t had much luck so far. He says that when he tries to bring nose wheel and rudder to neutral it exceeds the negative 11degrees angle on rudder pedal torque tube.He said he had reached out to Piper but no response so far. I hope to know more tomorrow. I think one thing that would reassure we are on correct path is if the trim actuator had part number stamped on it ( which they don’t) he is having doubts about that now. I believe he’s trying to get dimensions for correct serial number. Will update when I have the solution. Thanks Rex
