    Hi,

I’ve had good luck with Air-Parts of Lockhaven. Their website URL is: https://www.airpartsoflockhaven.com. Give this a try and see what you get… I’ll keep looking for you.

    Best,

I recently had both of my fuel gauges rebuilt at Keystone Instruments Services,Inc. Lock Haven,PA. 570-748-7083. They even re-painted the faces and they look brand new.

Since I posted this the fuel pressure/ammeter gauge started acting up. I contacted Aerospace Logic to ask what my options were. I elected to send it in for repair (quoted $200) and followed their advice regarding shipping. Which was to use the U. S. Mail. Apparently sending parts across the Canadian border is cumbersome.
My airplane has been down since July 24, and is still down because Aerospace Logic hasn’t gotten my replacement gauge back in my hands.
I suggested (by phone call) that it should get a customer service coordinator since it was hard to get replies to emails, phone calls and was soundly criticized.
I like the gauges but am disgusted with the company’s customer service.
I would have been more than willing to pay extra (in customs fees, shipping) to expedite the exchange so some of the delay is on me since I wasn’t proactive in the communication.
It’s now October 20–nearly three MONTHS that my Comanche has been down for want of a gauge repair.
I’m saving up for a Electronics International CGR-30P–I know I can get someone from E I on the phone when I call.

A few years ago I removed the 50 year old gage cluster from my Comanche and replaced all the gauges–fuel pressure, oil pressure and temperature, amps, and left and right fuel quantity–with 3 2 1/4 inch AeroSpace Logic gages. The Aerospace Logic gages are STC approved for the replacement of the primary gages and so far are working great.
If you are completely re doing your panel both Electronics International and JP Instruments sell Engine management panels that include these gages.
It may be easier and a lot quicker to purchase already approved by STC gages than to get your local FAA office to approve a data package such as the one for the Mitchell gages.

One option to explore is to install a JPI 900 Engine Analyzer. That display is TSOed as a substitute for original gauges. My A&P installed a JPI TSOed monitor when he could not get the gauges on his Mooney rebuilt. If you already have a JPI 730 or 830, there is an upgrade path to the JPI 900.

Can you give me the mechanics information so I can contact him?

Here is a photo of the gauges.
My mechanic can supply all of the docs to take to your FSDO for $550. The fuel gauges are defined as primary fuel gauges.
    Any questions, contact me.

The new 6 pack is slightly larger than the originals – about 1/4″.
I have had them in now for a year and they are great.

Any way I can get some additional information from you?

I had the same issue, and my shop successfully obtained a 377 for using Mitchel gauges. 🙂
They look and work great and use a footprint just slightly larger than the originals and are available with lighting.
