Hi Mark,
There is an extension part from Piper that attaches to the left arm of your yoke and provides more real estate for switches. You can see a picture of it here:https://www.texasairsalvage.com/main_view.php?editid1=273035.
You could give them a call (there are a couple of the wheels on its site) and see if they'll swap for the one you have.
I did pull a part number (37729-02) from a PA 32 260-300 parts book but can't seem to find that number through a Google search.
The same part number appears in the PA 28R-200 parts book.
An experienced avionics shop may also have a locally fabricated solution.
Let me know what you come up with.

I have a '72 Cherokee 180 and want to install either the BK Aerocruze 100 or the Trio autopilot. One of the requirements is a yoke mounted AP/CWS button. It has the rams horn yokes. I currently have left yoke mounted electric trim switch and PTT button. So no room to mount another button in the left yoke. I'm having a hard time figuring out where I would get a new larger switch mount that would extend the mounting area for the additional autopilot button. The best place for this button is at the left thumb area. What I'm hoping to find would be similar to the larger left yoke button mounting extension found in later model Cherokee 6's, Arrows, etc. I assumed there might be a 3rd party supplier for this or is this a Piper part?
