Glad you can use your current cable. Keep McFarlane in mind should you ever want a spare at hand. Have a great weekend.
Early Cherokee cabin Air cable

Thanks, Kent for now I think I can save my old cable but you never know.
Hey Dennis, if a cable is needed McFarlane does make custom cables. https://www.mcfarlaneaviation.com/products/category/cables-and-chains-flight-control/ You will have to reach out to them but they do have the capability of individual requests.
Steve, Thanks this should work
Hi Dennis,
Sorry it’s take time to get back to you. I can’t quite see what you have going at the attach point. One thing that comes to mind that might work as a solution is what’s called a wire swivel. It’s commonly used to connect the control wire to the carb heat arm on the airbox. The body of the swivel is put into a hole on the arm, then the control wire is put through the hole before tightening down the screw onto the control wire.
Aircraft Spruce sells these things for less than a dollar. The Aircraft Spruce part number is 06-01282. I’ve attached a picture.
The cable end to the cabin Air vent in my 65 Cherokee 180 keeps coming off. I don’t think it is original as to how the end is attached to the door.
This is the vent that you control from the push-pull knob on the right side of the lower dash and open the vent door on the forward left of the cockpit by the pilot’s feet. This vent also has a knob on it.Any assistance/picture as to how this should be installed would be appreciated.
