I already have one wire that’s grounded from the dome light that goes to one of the overhead screws to ground. I think you’re right though, I think it the ground for the compass light. At least I’m hoping. I’m going out to the hanger tomorrow to check it out.

On my 1978 Warrior there is a connector to ground that goes over one of the screws that attaches the overhead console to the airframe.

My overhead was taken apart and the wiring wasn’t marked. I can’t find a wiring diagram for the two lights( Dome and Red Instrument light). The Red instrument light has a canon plug and the dome has a 12 vdc wire connected to the on/off switch. But, for some reason I have a 12vdc wire with an eyelit connector that is variable thru the instrument dimmer switch. Can’t figure out where it goes. The variable red light works fine and the dome light is on or off. Any suggestions welcomed. Also, no wire numbers on this wire.
