I decided I couldn’t wait until my next annual, Jan 2014. I had my ignition harnesses replaced and will put in new Tempest REM40E plugs next week. My plug leads had some wear spots in various locations & I think are original from 1974. I had done some short term repair with high temp silicon.
The plugs only had about 250 hours on them, I may test & keep the Champion plugs as spares. Part of this stems from ignition noise I have had bleeding into my radio lately. After turning off & testing as much as I can it’s pointing to the ignition system, hopefully.
I can’t be taking a plane with marginal leads to Airventure in a few more weeks.
