Thank you for the ideas Steve. I do have a large Artic Air cooler it works very well but it takes up most of my baggage area. I will contact both Wentworth and Preferred Airparts in addition I do know a couple of salvage dealers to request that as well. Thanks so much for your suggestions and prompt reply. Take care. Paul

Hi Paul,
To the best of my knowledge, the only way for you to get the original Piper A/C system installed would be to buy a used one from one of the aircraft salvage yards and install it in accordance with the Piper Parts and Service manual instructions.
We suggest you start your search with Preferred Airparts (www. preferredairparts.com) or Wentworth Aircraft (www.wentworthaircraft.com)
I don't believe there are after market companies that sell FAA approved A/C systems for your Archer II.
Another option, that is much less expensive and readily available would be a portable unit powered by aircraft power that blows air cooled by ice into the cabin. There are some drawbacks; ice has to be loaded prior to flight, and the physical size will cut into back seat room, but these do cool the cabin during start up, take off and climb. Some pilots say it's better than nothing.
For a look at some of the units that are for sale, type "Cabin cooler" into the search window at www.aircraftspruce.com.
Or, if you're handy, go to YouTube and type "Hillbilly Air Conditioner" into the query window for directions on how to put together a working model using easy to get off the shelf parts.
Please let me know what you come up with.

I own a 1979 Piper Archer II here in Floirda. Air Conditioning was an option on my airplane but the original buyer did not equip it that way. Is there any way I can buy the AC system to install on this aircraft ? Thanks for your help
