Hi everyone,
I’ve made a decision. After reviewing 8 handheld transceivers by Yaesu, Icom and Sporty’s, I chose the Sporty’s SP-400. I really like it. Next week I hope to take it flying and see how the NAV/ILS function works. The Com functions perfectly.

Do you keep a handheld transceiver in your airplane for backup, flight plan retrieval or other use? If you have a handheld, does is have GPS, VHF or ILS capability? I’d be interested in knowing what you have and whether you like it. Any information would be helpful.
